"Home Grown Woman" performed live in San Diego, CA from the forthcoming Live at Liberty Station EP by Mama Haze. Subscribe to see the next video installment of Live at Liberty Station. The entire collection is set to be released on May, 31 2019.
This song was written by dear friends Jordan Frye and Meaghan Maples. They were aiming to create a dynamic, soulful, pop song that incorporated harmonic stylings with strong female vocals and rhythmic percussion. This song embodies the powerful, sexy presence that a strong and slightly hard to get female carries into her interactions with onlookers and pursuers.
Lyrics:
She’s not going home with you didn't take too long to figure out
That your plans were made for fools
She’s got better things to do
Then to waste her precious time
Playing silly games with you
She’s a home grown woman
It’s the shake of her skirt
She’ll get you with that high class loving
So good that it hurts
Hit you like that low end (old school) whiskey You can tell by her smile
She’s a stop, drop, and everyone rolls (fire) She’s a good girl and everyone knows
She’s a Home, Grown, Woman
She’s as sweet as cherry pie
But she might smack a hand If you try to take bite
She knows how to walk the line
Don’t bring your dirty laundry honey
Or she’ll hang you out to dry (leave you high and dry)
