Drop after drop by Air Tractor 802 Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs), including amphibious Fire Boss variants, was captured during early Spring checkouts of aircraft and crews conducted at Deer Park, Washington on 9 March 2016. The Fire Bosses alternately loaded water pumped at the airport and scooped water from a nearby lake. SEATs are an extremely flexible option for air tankers; three SEATs can drop in tandem, bringing a total of 2,400 gallons of retardant or water to a fire at a time. If a suitable body of water is nearby, the amphibian Fire Boss versions can scoop and return, bringing liquid to the battle rapidly. The Fire Boss uses retractable scoops in the bottom of each pontoon to ram water into the belly tank. Have you subscribed to the Airailimages Channel on YouTube?
