A total of 101 UN member states have given the 'green light' to the telematic intervention of the Ukrainian leader, while seven countries voted against and 19 others abstained. Belarus, for its part, tabled an amendment which, had it passed, would have allowed all UN countries to send a video message. Zelenski's message will be watched live from New York by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who will attend the event on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
