@luizbeirac-draws77389 months ago Every time I think of Oregon the first thing that comes to my mind: Gravity Falls. But it's not just because it's my favorite show, it's because Oregon has that suspenseful, mystery feel that I love. Woods, trails, waterfalls, rivers, beaches, everything. I think that's why I want to meet so much. ... 38

@gabebolton46043 years ago Oregon has been my home for my entire 28 years here. I’ve been to all these places and explored all the corners of the state. I have thought about leaving many times but can’t because the trees, mountains, and waterfalls keep me here. If you’re an outdoor person, you’ll love Oregon. And Washington. The Pacific Northwest is gorgeous. ... 342

@ikergimenez54173 years ago Oregon is one of the most geographically diverse states in the U.S., marked by volcanoes, abundant bodies of water, dense evergreen and mixed forests, as well as high deserts and semi-arid shrublands. At 11,249 feet (3,429 m), Mount Hood, a stratovolcano, is the state's highest point. Oregon's only national park, Crater Lake National Park, comprises the caldera surrounding Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the United States. The state is also home to the single largest organism in the world, Armillaria ostoyae, a fungus that runs beneath 2,200 acres (8.9 km2) of the Malheur National Forest. ... 12

@jessicalovell53154 years ago Oregon has countless famous waterfalls, but I love Silver Falls State Park in particular. There a hiking trail where over the course of a few hours you can hike to see 10 waterfalls. It's hardly advertised on Youtube Oregon vids, so it is definitely a hidden gem. Oregon truly is one of the most beautiful states in America, I absolutely agree. ... 46

@stevenpdxedu3 years ago Lots of people enjoy the Oregon coast in spring and summer. Me, I don't like crowds, so I visit the beach in winter. To see the angry Pacific in a violent storm is something you will never forget. And (If you're prepared for it.) Winter camping in the Wallowa Mtns. is more than just cool, its damn cold! Last time I was there it was minus 37 degrees in Joseph. Oregon is so beautiful you can live here for years and not see half of what there is. Thanks for part one, there's plenty more. ... 4

@wonderwoman40903 years ago Native Oregonian, the movie Stand By Me was filmed in the town founded by my family (Brownsville, maiden name is Brown), that, too is a great place to go. There is a museum with a converted traincar that is a small movie theater that shows silent movies. They have entire storefronts from the 19th century inside the museum. There are memorable spots throughout the town from the movie Stand By Me, such as the spot where the coin was picked up in the street, pioneer park where the pie eating contest was, etc. Very fun, historical, and interesting place. ... 7

On the backside of the lake (it dead ends) are cabins, river, horse rentals, lots of hiking, or horse riding into the blue mountains and several lakes. There is a beautiful camp ground on the lake and a huge lodge. Before the lake is the small town of Joseph, and Enterprise. It's MAGICAL!!! ... 1

Happy travels! ... 24

@caseypaden20632 years ago Check out Silver Falls State Park outside of Salem. Not only is it green and beautiful, it’s so cool to be able to walk behind a waterfall. Also if you like rocks, drive down past Mt. Hood for an hour or so until you get to Smith Rock. It’s so beautiful. ... 2

@amazonbookworm11543 years ago As an Oregonian, thank you for this. I love my home state because of how beautiful it is. And that you can go to the woods, mountain, desert and beach all with an hour to an hour and a half from Portland. It always amazes me to think that Oregon is pretty much 2/3 desert, but it is also beautiful there too. Wish you would have featured things from the East side of Oregon too. Still, a great video. 😊 ... 57

    2. the painted hills with a nearby natural history museum that has skeletons found in the area including elephants the size of small dogs and huge dinosaur sharks
    3. hell's canyon.

@mRakmYaerlast year I live in Salem and spend a good deal of time exploring the state. Here's my top ten, in no particular order: (1) Ice Lake in the Wallowas, (2) Painted Hills in Central Oregon, (3) South Sister Wilderness Area (do youself a favor and hike to the summit of South Sister), (4) Jefferson Park in the Mount Jefferson Wilderness Area (especially for a 2-3 day camping excursion), (5) Crater Lake National Park (featured in video), (6) the Gorge (featured in video ... could really do a "top ten" just for the Gorge), (7) Samuel H Boardman State Scenic Corridor (featured in video; there are many places to stop, but Natural Bridges is a good one), (8) Cape Perpetua (be sure to visit Thor's Well), (9) Ona Beach, but only in March/April when the rocks are exposed), (10) really hard to narrow this down to ten, but for the sake of geographic diversity: Oregon Caves National Monument in the Siskiyous ... 1

@gailmyers28383 years ago Five years ago I moved from the deep south to the Oregon coast. Your video is beautiful amd inspiring and only touches on a small fraction of the amazing places to explore here. Every roadside pullout has hidden views, little trails, snowy mountains, old growth forest, expansive river and ocean views, towering waterfalls, deep blue lakes..they are literally everywhere! I am convinced this is the most beautiful state in all of the lower 48 US states. I love it here. Good to point out though, that some places are not accessible in the winter months, and beware of the ocean. It is as treacherous as it is dramatically beautiful. ❤ ... 11

@jules75582 years ago A great video tour of Oregon! Seeing people cliff dive into the Blue Pool was impressive, but people have died doing so. The water is so cold that it can cause muscles to seize up and a risk of drowning. That being said, the trail is fantastic and there is a rough path down to a rock platform for jumping in at the surface. It is considered a rite of passage and very entertaining to watch people react to the ice cold water! ... 8

I grew up in Salem,Oregon during the
    1970s and early 80s.
My family would often picnic, ski, and canoe up in the beautiful mountains of Oregon.
Or we would frequent the beautiful free beaches down by Newport and Lincoln ,
    Oregon.
I have very many fond precious childhood memories of the incredible nature in Oregon, and it's famous ☔
    rainy days!
    But ,as everyone knows,
not every day in Oregon is like that.
There are terrific sunny days there too.
My family and I had to move from Oregon to Connecticut in the early 80s,bummer.
I have yet to go back there.
    This video helped.

@karendavis1403 years ago This is a great video. I've lived in Oregon all my life and there are a few of these places that I still haven't seen yet so it looks like a coastal road trip is in order for this summer. Just so everyone knows, most of Oregon, east of the coastal mountain range, is actually high dessert so there are some beautiful sites that you don't want to miss in the central and eastern parts of the state. There are Wallowa Lake and the Wallowa Mountain range, Steens Mountain, Hells Canyon, the Alvord Desert and many more incredible places to explore.
Thanks for posting this. I look forward to an Oregon part 2.

@ikergimenez54173 years ago The state's coastal region produces significant tourism as well. The Oregon Coast Aquarium comprises 23 acres (9.3 ha) along Yaquina Bay in Newport, and was also home to Keiko the orca whale. It has been noted as one of the top ten aquariums in North America. Fort Clatsop in Warrenton features a replica of Lewis and Clark's encampment at the mouth of the Columbia River in 1805. The Sea Lion Caves in Florence are the largest system of sea caverns in the United States, and also attract many visitors.
In Southern Oregon, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, held in Ashland, is also a tourist draw, as is the Oregon Vortex and the Wolf Creek Inn State Heritage Site, a historic inn where Jack London wrote his 1913 novel Valley of the Moon.
