Water Play at Lollipop

“We are ready for some fun in the water. We are not scared! Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide and away we go for some fun outside!” sing Lollipop ELC’s little people. Playing with water supports learning across all areas of children’s development. It helps children gain confidence and control of their bodies, as well supporting their ability to learn strategies for active exploration, thinking and reasoning. Water play also affords opportunities for children to develop useful social skills while playing alongside other children, including problem-solving whenever problems arise (Te- Whāriki, 1996).
