http://AviationExplorer.com | For the past several years, Ford Motor Company has partnered with the EAA's ( Experimental Aircraft Association) Young Eagles Program to build a one of a kind aviation themed Ford Mustang, auctioned at the yearly EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Some previous year Mustangs include the AV8R, the AV-X10 "Dearborn Doll", the SR-71 Mustang, and the "Blue Angels" Mustang. In all, these special Mustangs have raised more than $1.5 million for EAA's Young Eagles Program. This year's aviation themed Mustang, appropriately named "Red Tails", will honor the exploits of the famous Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American aviators in the United States Army Air Corps. According to a press release, the 2013 Mustang's VIN is #00051, to align with the P-51 Mustangs flown by the Tuskegee Airmen. This one-of-one custom Mustang will be auctioned off on Thursday, July 26th to benefit the EAA's ( Experimental Aircraft Association) Young Eagles Program. The Mustang features a one-of-a-kind exterior paint job, with a polished aluminum and silver chrome finish. It has red and yellow accents that are consistent with the aircraft flown by the Tuskegee Airmen.
