The title is one of the most popular battle royale game in the PC gaming market and is apparently seeking to be accessible to everyone soon. The news arrives from a tweet from PlayerIGN, who stated that the game will become free to play in the future. As per the dataminer, the decision to go free to play, however, will be largely based on the reception of its current playerbase. In other words, the studio behind PUBG will track the player’s response in a free to play week that is reportedly set to arrive sometime next month. So, the game could go free depending on whether there is an influx of new players and that the existing players react positively to the change. Notably, PlayerIGN also added that PUBG had aimed on becoming free to play back in 2019. Although, the studio did not receive the player response that they had wanted back during the free to play test run in 2019, so this decision was scrapped.
