Enjoy my take on these delicious Jamaican pastries. It consists of a buttery flaky crust (I will have the link attached below so that you can see how I make the crust) that is filled with a flavored coconut mixture. It is delicious and perfect with a cup of coffee or tea. I am obviously not Jamaican, but this version is so close to the taste of the coconut gizzadas that you would get at a Jamaican bakery.

Ingredients and Measurements:

For the coconut filling:
4 cups freshly grated coconut
1 cup brown/Demerara sugar
2 tsp. ground ginger (use more or less depending on taste)
1 tsp. vanilla (use more or less depending on taste)
1 tsp. freshly ground nutmeg (use more or less depending on taste)
1 tbsp. butter
pinch of salt
